As a child I never thought, "I want to grow up and be a birth photographer." But over the years my own life experiences have led me to the best job ever.

Hi, I’m Kathryn
If I’m not at a birth, I’m chasing around my 3 boys, probably wearing my “mom uniform” of leggings and a t shirt.
After 7+ years and hundreds of births, some days I still can’t believe I get to do this job. Being able to combine my passion of motherhood, birth and photography is a dream come true.

Raising three boys means life is filled with a lot of mess and laughing at bathroom humor. We don’t take life too seriously around here, so much silliness and so many giggles.

My Story
In 2017 I decided it was time for a big change, I left my career and pursued my passion by opening Kathryn J Birth Stories. Since then I’ve had the privilege of documenting over 300 births for families all across the Dallas Fort Worth area. In 2020, I also became certified as a doula. I truly have the best job ever.
I live in the Dallas area with my husband of 17 years (man, that makes me feel old) and our three sons. When I'm not photographing births, I spend most of my time with family, if its warm you’ll probably find us in the pool. I enjoy documenting my boys and their everyday life, playing, laughing, just being themselves. I hope one day they sit down with an album of their childhood photos and it brings them right back to all the good times and love that we share.
